Arsenal still haven’t had a new signing in January. They are looking for a classy midfielder at the same time, want a long-term signature to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, as well as prepare for the departures of Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette at the end of the season.
According to recent reports, Arsenal are interested in rising young Brazilian star, Savinho. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the Gunners, along with a host of other European clubs, are interested in Atletico Mineiro midfielder Savinho. Will he be able to join the Emirates Stadium team when the transfer window only lasts until the 2nd night?
Savinho there ai?
Savinho, 17 years old, better known as Savio, is a promising attacking midfielder born in Duque de Caxias, Brazil. He is a versatile player, capable of playing in multiple positions in midfield and forward.
Why is Arsenal interested?
The Gunners have previously been successful in buying teenage talent from Brazil, such as signing Gabriel Martinelli from Ituano in the summer of 2019 for a bargain £6m.
Since then, Martinelli has established himself as one of the Premier League’s most promising players. He recently won the “Player of the Month” award after a top performance in December.
Martinelli’s success convinced technical director Edu to recruit more young talents from his homeland. Savinho is one such case.
He has a release clause for a fee of up to 60 million pounds. Experts describe Savinho as someone with excellent ball control, smart and agile movements in sprints.
Savinho made a mark with 4 goals in the Brazil U15 shirt when this team won the South American championship in 2019.
Currently, Savinho has made 12 appearances for Atletico Mineiro in the domestic league. However, Savinho only had 2 main kicks.
What was said?
Writing on his personal Twitter page, transfer expert Romano said: “Atletico Mineiro’s Savinho talent (born 2004) is attracting the interest of many clubs. The Red Bull system has made an offer to sign contract him and keep Savinho in Brazil. Arsenal are also keeping an eye on the young talent.”
“The race is still open, an exciting deal for the future,” Romano concluded.
