Arsenal’s technical director, Edu, will soon meet the Fiorentina Board of Directors, although the two sides have not reached a common voice in the Dusan Vlahovic deal.

Last month, Arsenal had close links with Dusan Vlahovic and were willing to pay a high price for Fiorentina. Coach Mikel Arteta wants to strengthen the attack when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has intended to leave and the contracts of Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah will expire in the summer.

Edu wants to sell Torreira outright to Fiorentina.

But technical director Edu could not convince Vlahovic to move to the Emirates Stadium, and Arsenal could not have a rookie in the winter transfer window. The Serbian’s decision to join Juventus has hurt those in north London, but Edu is prepared for deeper talks with Fiorentina.

According to La Repubblica, through Labaro Viola, Arsenal and Fiorentina will meet in the coming days to settle the future of Lucas Torreira. The midfielder is on loan at Fiorentina and Arsenal are expected to turn it into a “sold-out” deal next summer.

He has appeared in 20 of 23 Serie A matches. However, having Fiorentina in the group for the European Cup is a prerequisite for Torreira to stay with the team. Fiorentina is currently 8th, with 3 points behind Lazio, who are in 6th place.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are expected to prioritize signing the striker in the summer, and should Lacazette and Nketiah leave, efforts to strengthen that area will increase. The Gunners have linked Real Sociedad’s Alexander Isak and Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin as alternatives to Vlahovic.
