In the winter transfer window, Barca wanted to recruit Alvaro Morata, who was said to be ready to move to the Nou Camp at that time. However, the deal was not approved, so the Blaugrana turned to Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Recently, before meeting Villarreal in the 1/8 Champions League round, Morata reminded fans of this story of himself. Talking about Barca’s interest, the striker born in 1992 expressed:

“It doesn’t matter. I talked to the coach during the transfer window about his ideas, and he told me that the arrival of Dusan Vlahovic would help me. After all, it happened.  I’m happy to be here . If I had the right to decide, I would always stay here.”

Morata shared the reason for rejecting Barca.

“I’ve always felt Allegri’s confidence, ever since we started working together. He was the first to ask me everything, but he knew who I was and what I wasn’t. He told me I had to stay because he believed in me. Now I have to give everything to repay that trust.”

Morata currently has eight goals and six assists in 33 games in all competitions. In the recent period, he coordinated well with Vlahovic and met the coach’s plan.
